Sink or Swim

My life today is a transformational departure from any of my previous stories. I had already outgrown or actively discarded many stereotypes of my generation. But this midlife transition was different.

So what causes a woman to take a hard right turn away from the trajectory of an outwardly satisfying, inwardly stifling life?

Sink or swim. Imagine you see a loved one splashing around in the ocean. It’s a warm, sunny afternoon and you hear her calling but think she is being playful so you wave and smile to yourself as your lie back lost in your own thoughts. Everyone knows she’s a strong swimmer so there are no worries.

What you don’t know is that she hasn’t slept in days. Or that she is simply exhausted from the effort and has decided to sink. But her body won’t be denied its last attempt at self-preservation. It calls out with one last gasp before sinking into surrender.

And then she pops to the surface, forever changed.

Do you know someone like that?
Could it be you?

I feel the energy in your words the sincerity and your intent and the joyous celebration of a freedom unknown to me throughout three marriages. Are you real is all I need to know because right now I feel as though you are a spiritual leader with a fantastic mind
